Before coming to Northern I worked in the video production industry, gaining a large amount of practical experience. I produced numerous student award winning short films and documentaries, worked on several feature films, and worked on a music video for Bruce Springsteen. I have worked as a cinematographer on the warped tour, a production assistant for a Toyota photography shoot and interned for the NJ motion picture and television commission. I also have worked as an adjunct professor for several local colleges and universities including William Paterson, Ramapo, Holy Family, and Monmouth University. I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from Rowan University, a Master’s degree in Media Studies from William Paterson University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from St. Peter’s University
In 2007 I was given the opportunity to start our video production program here at Northern Burlington. We now have three levels of Video Production, produce district programming and create a variety of shows, sports, concerts, and award ceremonies for our school and community. Graduates from our program have gone on to work in the professional production fields including working at the NFL draft, the View, QVC, KYW 1060, 97.5 WPST, the Trenton Thunder, NY fashion week, ABC news, as well as numerous other independent productions and companies.
I teach in a classroom space that includes computers for each student as well as a variety of other audio and video technology. Every project includes critical thinking, writing, planning, working with equipment and working on the computer. Video students complete a combination of individual and group assignments, with a strong focus on hands-on activity. I provide all course materials electronically and encourage students to upload any and all materials to their own drives.
I hold Video club meetings after school every week. All students are encouraged to join anytime, and any student that needs extra help or lab time to complete a project is welcome in room 310 during that time as well. The best way to get in touch with me if you have any questions is my school email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
